"As our state's second-largest industry, we should be more aggressive at supporting and marketing what our farms bring to our economy," Huckleberry said.
"In addition, the potential for alternative energy offers our farms even greater opportunities to contribute both profitably and environmentally to our future."
"Montcalm and Ionia remain two of the state's most important counties in producing crops, grains, fruits, vegetables and meat," ," the 70th State House candidate points out.
"We can work with our farmers to improve their markets and to be good neighbors in our environment.
"The state can act more quickly and in better partnership with farmers to increase the output and, at the same time, the effectiveness of environmental controls," Huck stated.
"With growing markets for alternative, renewable energies, this sector of our economy can create many more jobs in the decades to come. This also contributes to our National Security as well."
